Meet Victoria
I believe when we make our health a priority, become at peace with our body, and connect with our passions to do work we love, we’re able to experience abundant energy, success and fulfillment.
Hi! I’m Victoria Bailey.
I’m here to empower and inspire you to Live a Life That Fits. Life is short, you deserve to live it having the body you want and doing work you love.
As a Wellness and Success coach, my passion is working with smart, ambitious, successful women to help you lose weight without dieting and deprivation, experience more energy and vitality, and love what you do every day, so that you can feel truly successful.
Successful and Stressed Out
Do you feel completely stressed and consumed by your career? Do you feel frustrated that you don’t have the time to take care of yourself and pursue your interests and passions? You’re not alone. I’ve found that while success requires dedication and commitment, without balance, it can lead to burn out and stress.
As someone who spent over 12 years in the corporate world, I can relate to the feeling of having achieved career success, yet not really feeling that successful. With each promotion and raise, I could buy more shoes, but I couldn’t buy more time, health or wellbeing.
By the time I was 30, I was in a senior leadership role working in the fast paced world of advertising. I was doing well financially, but I was exhausted, burnt out and resenting my job for not giving me the freedom to live a full life. I didn’t have time to take care of myself, so my weight constantly fluctuated. I was always stressed and overwhelmed. I craved passion, freedom and purpose, but I had no clue what to do to fill that void. So I kept doing what I knew, which was to work harder, exercise more, and eat less. On the outside I had it together, but on the inside I felt out of control and unhappy.
So how did a stressed out corporate ad-exec end up coaching people on wellbeing, balance and loving what you do? Let me tell you where my passion for health started.
My Health and Weight Loss Story
I went on my first diet around grade 7, when I realized my brothers could eat whatever they wanted and for whatever reason I couldn’t. Like many women, I’ve felt the pressure to be thin and struggled with my body image. I dieted for over 15 years, developing an eating disorder in university that I managed to “keep under control” for many years. As I got older and learned more about health, the types of diets changed, but the mindset cycle was the same. I went from bagels and low fat cream cheese, to “healthier” diets like detoxes and veganism, but in my mind it was always about restriction and deprivation, followed by cheat days, binges and guilt.
Fortunately I had several experiences early on in my life that taught me the importance of taking care of my health. In my twenties I developed chronic digestion issues, I was constantly bloated and eventually got hooked on laxatives. Nothing helped until I started to work with a naturopathic doctor to look at the underlying causes and heal my digestive tract. In addition to resolving my symptoms, I realized that healthy digestion was crucial to having balanced hormones, glowing skin and vibrant energy.
Prior to my own healing, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. The experience was terrifying, especially because my mom wanted to pursue natural therapies before considering radiation or chemotherapy. I was scared, but I was determined to support her, so I researched specialists, read countless books, and joined her in the dietary changes, cleansing and detoxing. Looking back, I see her illness as a blessing in disguise because it made me aware of the link between nutrition and disease. Up until that point, I never thought about what I ate beyond the calories and fat grams it contained. It also opened me up to the world of integrative medicine and holistic healing. My mom has remained cancer free and we are so grateful for what that experience taught us about health, disease prevention and the power to heal.
We Don’t Always Do What We Know We Should Do
By now you’re thinking, with all of this information and inspiration, I must have been a picture of perfect health. Well not quite! While many aspects of my diet did change permanently, several of my bad habits and “vices” were much harder to change, especially in times of stress. It took me years to quit smoking, I was addicted to coffee, and years of dieting had me stuck in the same cycle of strict eating, followed by weeks or months of poor eating. I was frustrated with myself because I thought I knew better.
My health and weight weren’t the only areas that were out of alignment. I had always dreamed of doing work I loved. Instead, ten years into my career I found myself in a job I no longer enjoyed, feeling bored, frustrated and uninspired.
I Finally Took Control of My Health and Happiness
I had a turning point shortly after I turned 30. I decided I wasn’t going to settle for the life I was living. My health was okay, but not great. I was doing well in my career, but not in love with my job. I wanted more. I wanted to wake up on Monday mornings energized and excited, rather than dragging myself out of bed and counting the days until the weekend. I was craving passion, excitement and purpose.
It’s hard to be feel motivated and inspired if you’re tired, bloated, foggy and stressed out. So I focused on my health first, getting super healthy and energized while working my corporate job. I figured out how to eat well no matter where I was and practical lifestyle habits that fit my crazy schedule.
After taking control of my health and work life balance, I was motivated to create a vision for my life and career. I’ve found that very often, transformation happens from the inside out. Once I got clear on my values, priorities and passions, the next steps began to fall into place.
Fast forward to today, I’m grateful to live my passion for health and wellness every day, and inspire women who want to stop dieting, feel healthier, and even more successful by doing work they love or find a way to love the work they do.
My mission is to help women achieve wellness and personal fulfillment, while creating a career aligned with their values and dreams. I believe we don’t have to choose between personal and professional goals and ultimately, success at the price of our health and happiness, isn’t going to make us feel truly successful.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me better. I hope you’re inspired to create your healthiest and most fulfilling life. I know it’s possible and I’m here to show you how!
